We get it, Tom - I will be so glad to vote for you and pump everyone I know to do the same - and I hope to be of service as California changes course and the World's 4th economy also becomes the World's sustainable economy - for everybody and for our incredible environment.
Yes, my old saying is that the rich are not anymore inherently bad or evil than the poor are supposedly inherently "lazy" like the GOP claim.
Both are just nonsense political talking points because having a "boogeyman" is used to bring out the angry voter to get them to show up.
That said, the billionaires in Trump's orbit rightfully inspire torches and pitchfork leanings in the masses by their abuse of privilege. But that is an issue of poor character and morality colliding with a means for power.
I've never had a chanceu ton make this comment but I'm gonna say it right now because of what you said. Okay I'm not prejudiced I'm not racist I'm not anti trans or anti LGBTQ or anything. I just know there are bad people everywhere and good people everywhere it doesn't matter if you are LGBTQ Or white or black or Asian or hispanic or Muslim or Christian or whatever the hell you are . There are asshole people everywhere and great people everywhere and you can't just lump everybody into one thing because that's just ignorance.
In the three dots in the upper right corner of your comment is an edit button. However, I am dyslexic so if there are any errors i am unlikely to see them anyway. I agree with what you are trying to say though.
It is hard to say. He is no "kitten" but I'm not sure about "wolf." I do not think so.
I think he my just want it so badly that it may color his methods. The fact that he is attacking the other top Dem and making them the enemy and calling them a "big oil" candidate with no hard evidence, is the typical progressive way of doing things, and this behavior tends to elect Republicans only. That is how we got Trump as well as Bush in his first term. The far left attacked their own and/or attached to more liberal 3rd party candidates, as well. Even Teddy Roosevelt (the most popular man in the country at that time) lost an election when he split his party or rather ran as a 3rd party candidate (although he was initially a republican, he was a progressive and formed Bull Moose).
It is deja vu - all over again.
If Stayer wins he is an easier target for the GOP since he is a bit more radical in his ideas, and if Becerra wins, Stayer has now damaged him. We have had republican governors before so it concerns me, and things did not get better when they were elected for sure.
Thus it would be best to have 2 Dems on the ticket so i wish they were supporting each other.
Hillary also had a pac that some oil companies had put money in, but it was a fraction of what they were giving the GOP. But Bernie attacked her with a non-issue, as well as many other things that fact check sites said were false, and when she got the nomination her polling had slid from where it was before she ran when it had been in the 60s and then the 11th hour Comey thing and Trump won. So here we go again.
Progressives have very good ideas but they often help the GOP win elections instead of moving us forward due to the passion for their own ideas getting the best of them.
People wake up, just follow the money, and you will always find the truth! Tom Steyer is honest, open, and very clear with all his spending. And he is not paying a bunch of actors like other campaigns. He is giving to people who support him and believe in him. So everything we say, is 100% our beliefs.
Let me bring up another point, how many times have you received requests for donations from all these wealthy people running for the whole gambit of positions? I don’t know about you, but I receive 20 to 30 texts a day from people all over the country. And no mater how many times I tell them to stop (including Bacerra & Porter), they keep asking. And like I said, most of them are wealthy,(perhaps not a billionaire, but wealthy none the less.) Yet they are asking the poor and middle class to fund their campaigns. In addition they are getting funding from Big Corporate donors with agendas.
How many times has Tom Steyer asked you for money? I’ll bet not once. He has never asked me for a dime. Don’t judge him negatively just because he is a billionaire. That actually makes him more trustworthy because he doesn’t need to be cutting back room deals, or promote things to line his pockets. He wants to help the world with climate change, not destroy it just to make himself and his friends richer.
He turns away the lobbyists from Big Agg and Big Pharma. He doesn’t need their money. He would rather see Americans thrive and be healthy and be able to afford Health Care.
And for the record, No One paid me to write this. It is what I believe, and know to be true. So I ask you, if you really care, follow the money, seek the truth, and don’t just parrot the deceivers.
I voted for Tom Steyer because he is for the good of all people, and so am I.
I voted for you for governor! I met you in 2020 when you were running for president. You came across as honest and sincere And those are character things that I Admire.
You didn't speak as if you were placating everybody.
I met Tom Steyer over a decade ago. It was at consumer watchdog awards dinner. TOM was there speaking about Solar. I got to speak with him about oh maybe 20 minutes. He was really patient with my dumb questions, and even though there were several people waiting to speak with him, I never felt like he rushed me.
Also met him over Lunch recently with 14 other volunteers. He's really quite the guy. I just wish all the voters could meet him. I think his job campaigning would be a lot easier. The thing that surprised me about him was how much a policy wonk he is. The other thing that grabbed me about him a lot was how intently he listened to everyone individually as they spoke to him.
I have voted. My ballot was delivered to the box at the library. You are my choice for governor because it is clear you have learned that there is a better road than the one you were traveling on. You have paid for your campaigns on your own and never asked me for a dime. You have been unafraid to criticize Donald Trump and I think you have a plan to deal with him when you are governor. Yes I definitely voted for you.
I want to see Steyer and Becerra duke it out leading up to Nov because I think this is the conversation we need to have and that conversation would benefit the whole nation in its ability to recognize and address the problem of climate change. I like Porter too, but her polling does not seem to suggest she is a contender.
Hilton, as a GOPer would tow the line of dishonesty on this topic in my opinion, and there would not be an ability for a rational debate. He already acts like oil is not a global commodity which is largely priced based on global supply and demand. I assume he knows better.
There is just more "drill baby drill" nonsense from Hilton and the USA is already the worlds largest producer and 2nd largest exporter of oil and we became net exporters of gasoline back prior to 2011. So, clearly, it is not an issue of oil and gas and local geography issues. The GOP find a lie that works and then stick with it for decades.
Fortunately when I was looking at polling yesterday, Steyer is now even with Hilton, so maybe he can beat him and go into November. I sure hope so!
The worst that can happen with Steyer and Becerra on the ticket is that Becerra will be pushed to the left and be forced to make some important policy promises on climate should he win. With Steyer and Hilton and the new GOP media domination, who knows what could happen, young folks can be too easily molded by social media stuff, etc. as we saw with Trump's win.
In contrast, an honest debate can highlight a lot of important things for CA and many people will become more aware of the dangers we face. People really do not seem aware of how quickly these changes with our climate may now happen.
You just said everything I have thought but you said it’s so eloquently so thank you! We know what happened with Trump and how easily swayed these young voters were. If we stay laser focused on bringing them in I think we have a very good chance of taking the whole thing in November.
I watched as the GOP media machine was able to turn the tide on Harris by reading the opinion section on the WSJ to see the progression of the talking points.
If the there are any cracks that can lead to fear the GOP will pry them open so we have to make sure Steyer is not running against Hilton especially since Steyer has mentioned prop 13 changes.
Even if Steyer only wants to change the commercial application, nothing ignites more fear in the hearts of long time CA residents than the fear that somehow all of prop 13 could get overturned since for most it would mean having to sell a home and moving ASAP.
If assessments suddenly reset at current values or even went up a bit, most seniors and lower income folks would not be able to live here at all.
My prop tax would be more than my SS payment and I would have to sell to keep from losing everything and we are talking about millions of lower income folks and seniors who are in the same boat here in CA. The GOP will exploit this fear since Steyer has mentioned prop 13.
I can almost guarantee that this "rumor" is already waiting in the wings to stoke fear if there is a Hilton and Steyer on the Nov ballot because this is how the GOP operate.
The GOP took an off handed statement made by a campaign aid of Harris and turned it into a rumor that she favored taxes on unearned income for the wealthy (wealth tax) and also spun what she said about grocery prices and getting rid of price fixing and monopoly practices and spun this into capping and setting prices. Next thing you know, Amazon and Facebook and on and on were kowtowing to Trump and the public started getting worried and concerned. But another main problem is that we are such a sexist nation even still.
So, make sure there are no cracks.
If Hilton is on the ticket, it would be better to stop mentioning prop 13 since it can can be spun and used to stoke fear, so an extra sur-tax on income generated from commercial and rental properties might be the better option rather than the property tax itself.
I feel like I know the GOP strategy, it is pretty predictable since it all has to do with spinning something into fear. A crack can quickly become a gaping hole.
That would make me happy but to me I’ve always thought it should be one of each party, to be fair. But I finally learned this in 68 years of my life that life isn’t fair and I need to just get over it.
Well both Steyer and Becerra have had issues in their past. Steyer with for-profit prisons which he had declared made a huge mistake with that in 2010 he made that declaration. I don't know if Becerra has changed his mind about immigration but apparently he was kind of anti-immigration.
What people don't understand is that you're never gonna find Somebody that you like 100% of Everything they are. I have been voting for 50 years and there's always going to be something you don't like. You can't find something then you aren't looking hard enough...
Yes Hilton, and Bianco are threats to our Constitution, but there are others running for other positions more dangerous than either of them. Be really careful when selecting a candidate for Superintendent of Public Instruction. There is a wolf in female clothing.
TO MR. TOM STEYER - WHEN YOU BECOME GOVERNOR: (1) I AM BEGGING YOU TO GET RID OF THE HIGH GASOLINE TAXES IN THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA. (2) PLEASE CLEAN UP THE CITIES IN CALIFORNIA BY GETTING RID OF THE HOMELESS POPULATION AND CRIME. (3) PLEASE CLEAN UP THE FILTH ON OUR HIGHWAYS (ENTERING THE HIGHWAYS AND EXITING THE HIGHWAYS)!!! (4) EVERYONE NEEDS MEDIDAL CARE REGARDLESS OF RACE, COLOR OR CREED, BECAUSE IF YOU DON'T GIVE EVERYONE IN THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA MEDICAL CARE, DISEASES WILL RUN RAMPANT THROUGHOUT THE STATE!!! NO ONE WILL BE SAFE!!! (4) THE YOUNG HEALTHY WOMEN ON WELFARE WITH CHILDREN SHOULD GO TO SCHOOL OR TO WORK, AND THE CHILDREN SHOULD BE PUT IN A DAYCARE SCHOOL IF NOT OLDER ENOUGH FOR ELEMENTARY SCHOOL!!! GOOD LUCK!!!
TO MR. TOM STEYER: I am Praying that you will win the "GOVERNORSHIP" for the STATE OF CALIFORNIA. I know how hard you have been working to help all the people of CALIFORNIA. I also want to thank you for visiting FIRST AME CHURCH in Los Angeles this past Sunday. I wish to suggest that you visit all the churches throughout the State of California, especially the Black Churches and Hispanic Churches. Also please use some of your Millions to donate to the "Scholarship Programs" and "PANTY FOOD PROGRAMS" that have been set up by some of these churches to help the poor people in various neighborhoods. I have relatives all over the State of Callifornia, and I will advise them of your support for our neighborhoods!!! LOVE, PEACE AND BLESSINGS TO YOU AND FAMILY FROM FRANCES HUFF-MCNEALY, LOS ANGELES, CA
If you want more affordable and comprehensive healthcare and housing, and a cleaner and safer environment that doesn’t sacrifice a strong innovative economy, vote for Tom.
Tom Steyer has spent MILLION$ to get Celebs and media influencers to falsely endorse him!!!
Billionaires never elected to public office must PAY for supporters just as Elon musk did for Trump!
California DO NOT GET BAMBOOZLED!
Jane Fonda, Steyer did not pay her directly for her endorsement, but his campaign did contribute $310,000 to the Jane Fonda Climate PAC, prior to her endorsing Steyer and cutting a campaign ad.
Steyer's campaign has also faced scrutiny for failing to disclose payments made to Gen Z TikTok influencers, some of whom promoted him on social media. Paid $400,000 to $1 million each!
I’m voting for you. I don’t know if you will see this, but I live in Far Northern CA. My husband and I have good jobs and we still sometimes have to choose what we will allocate our income towards. New tires? Medical debt? Groceries. We drive a total of 100 miles to work and back each day. That’s a bill! My biggest concern is what is being done to those who are less fortunate. My adult daughters, my friends of varying colors-here “illegally” or not and those trying to make it on a minimum wage job with kids and $1800 rents. There is very little work here. Dear Mr. Steyer, I just watched your interview with Josh Greene and thought the following:
Tom Steyer just wrote the Ad that he needs to produce and air repeatedly (through lego like videos) = The Saturation of Attacks Ads Against Me Are Indicative of Dark Money Influence That Have Specific Special Interest, Their Desire To Preserve Corruption and That I Am Doing The Right Noble Thing For Americans 🇺🇸 . I TERRIFY BIG BUSINESS, THE GREEDY, THE CORRUPT AND FILTHY RICH BECAUSE I IMPEDE -WITH MY IDEAS AND PLANS- THEIR ABILITY TO KEEP FLEECING AMERICA 🇺🇸
We get it, Tom - I will be so glad to vote for you and pump everyone I know to do the same - and I hope to be of service as California changes course and the World's 4th economy also becomes the World's sustainable economy - for everybody and for our incredible environment.
Volunteering for Tom- it can be brutal out there! So appreciate your comment.
Billionaires like you shouldn’t exist! We need a more diverse socialist governor to lead California to progressive utopia. Vote Porter or Becerra.
I have met him. Just because he's a billionaire doesn't mean he's an asshole. That's just generalizing all rich people. And that's ignorant.
Yes, my old saying is that the rich are not anymore inherently bad or evil than the poor are supposedly inherently "lazy" like the GOP claim.

I've tried the 3 dots and it makes my comment disappear. I think it's because it's sort of thread and not just a comment on somebody's post.
But he is though.
Wolf in sheep’s clothing.

No, don't get over it, but also do not let it dominate over the good stuff or wishing for better.
This is what I wish:
I wish Porter would drop out and endorse Steyer and Mahan would drop out and endorse Becerra.
This would likely cause Steyer and Becerra to pull way ahead of Hilton and the stop the steal oath keepers bozo.
Never stop wishing.

Tom Steyer for Governor!!
I will be voting for you today!!
I have been posting most of the ‘yahoo’’s Comment section in many different subject article and I submit this:
Tom Steyer for Governor!!
Tom Steyer for Governor!!
Simple as that and I give my best luck for You Tom!! Go Tom!!
Not cool, Tom. So glad Mark Cuban convinced these seniors it makes no sense for voting for billionaires in politics. Go Katie!
